Day 6 - Camel Riding, 4x4, Offroading

Howdy! Today’s blog post is brought to you by Camila Brigueda and Adam Ramos.

Today was amazing! All of the students went on four wheelers and drove through different sand tracks. Sadly, due to FIFA regulations, we couldn’t go into the dunes with the four wheelers, however, it was still very action packed. There were many times where many of the students caught air as we drove up and down the sand hills. There were a few accidents where a student got stuck in the sand and another fell off their four wheeler, however, everyone was okay and we prepared for what was next which was camel rides!

The camel ride was very cool. The camels were so cute and very nice. They were so tall and it was interesting seeing how they stood up and sat down. We had to hold onto the camels for dear life once we got on and off of them. After that, we went on a car ride through the dunes to reach the top of the dunes and take scenic pictures. It was a very bumpy, but fun ride!

Everything today felt like a movie. I still believe that this study abroad is a really, really, really long dream.

When we got home after riding the camels, I prepared for my shift. I volunteered at the FIFA Fan Festival and I helped people with directions within the Festival. It wasn’t much work, however, it was fun talking to people attending the festival and we also took pictures with other volunteers!

Adam:

When we got back to the dorms, I got ready to go to the Corniche with Kyle, Saraya and Tatiana. We walked the entire route and watched the firework show. We had an excellent dinner at Souq Waqif and then returned to TAMUQ to finally rest.
