Day 10 - The Four Seasons + Boat Cruise

 Howdy!

Our day started early this morning with a trip to the Four Seasons Hotel here in Doha. This hotel is rated as the number one luxury hotel in the Middle East and number four in the entire world. In our effort to learn more about event management and the utilization of different spaces, we took an extensive tour of the hotel’s meeting spaces, ballrooms, outdoor venues, restaurants, and amenities. The property lived up to the expectations as it displayed immense beauty in design along with dedicated staff and luxurious facilities. The Four Seasons Hotel in Doha has created an incredible reputation for itself and is truly a jewel of the desert.

Following this, we stopped for a quick bite to eat then headed to the office for Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy. The Supreme Committee has been responsible for the bid, planning, and implementation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup here in Qatar. In the office, we were able to see the museum style layout that shows the development from the initial bid in 2009 all the way to the final stages of design and implementation for the tournament along with the long history of football (soccer) in Qatar dating all the way back to the 1940s.

The last stop of the day was a boat tour around Doha skyline. It was beautiful and we were able to see the skyline lit up from far away. We saw plenty of yachts and huge cruises ships, which people are using as a housing accommodation while the World Cup is here in Doha. We ate a delicious meal and had a nice chat with Stephanie about the country and what we thought about our trip so far. We arrived back on shore and took an Uber home to end off our night. We are all very tired and looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning.
